The Importance of Insurance
Sep 13th, 2007 by MAT.
My house’s bathroom leaked, and the water damaged the lower wall pretty badly. Though I knew my mortgage insurance did not cover such problem, I called up my insurance agent asking for advice anyway. I told her that there must be some kind of insurance policy out there that take care of house sicknesses.
We have life insurance, major illnesses insurance and hospital and surgery insurance to cover our wear and tears. Our wheels have car insurance to protect them from any form of abuses. The content in our house is protected with home insurance. There’s even an additional coverage of the building itself but I understood that such policy is only good for malicious, accidental and weather damages. Normal wear and tear like water leakage will not be covered. If our dogs and cats can get a pet insurance, surely I can get something for my house’s ailment and sickness?
My laments got my finance lady thinking, “Do you think we should take up Professional Liability and Errors and Omissions Insurance? You know, anything can happen.”
Yes, anything can happen. However, I have never ever thought of house insurance or business insurance until now. As an individual, house owner and business owner, I really need to review my insurance again.
