Business Card is the Face of Your Business

Your business card is the face of your business. Apart from being a popular way of providing your contact information to others, your business card is to promote your product and service and advertise your business to your intended audience.
Your business card is therefore an extremely important tool. It is never convenient to write down someone’s information. So being able to exchange cards is very quick and easy. Nowadays, there’s also an overload of information. How often did you write down a phone number, put it away and the next time you see that number, you have absolute no recollection at all. Your business card eliminates that from happening and enable your potential clients to remember you, your product and your service whenever they see your business card.
What should be on your business card?
1. Essential Information
Firstly, have all your important contact particulars on your business card. That refers to your name, business name, address, phone numbers, email address and web page if you have one. We also recommend you include your title and type of business. Very often, people only put the name of their business on their business cards, without any description about their business type. To them, their business name is self-explanatory. However, it is pretty often we couldn’t figure out. People cannot come to you when they don’t know what you can do.
2. Respect Your Card
Don’t go cheap by crossing out outdated information on your business card. It is important to make sure everything is correct before distributing them. You are better off paying getting new cards printed when information changes. By not treating your business card with respect, you are sending out the signal that you care little of your business or the business your client gives you. Your recipient will therefore not think very highly of you.
Your business cards and marketing materials are the face of your company. Make sure you put your best face forward because first impressions always count. If you are in the service industry, you might like to consider adding a professionally shot photo of yours. It’s easier for people to distinguish one Robert Shaw from another Robert Shaw.
3. Get Attention
Most cards are on stock white paper, so depending on what business you are in, you may want to select a different background color for your business card. For example, if you are in the wedding planning business, you can use pink as a nice background color that not only boldly stands out from the rest, but also gives your customer a taste of how romantic your service is.
If you have a company slogan or logo, include them on your business card. In addition to making the card look professional, the recipient might remember your slogan or logo longer than anything else on the card and can jog their memory to go take a look at your business card again down the road.
Use words or pictures to create a desire and interest in your product or service and include a call to action - for example, For More Information, Call Now!’ You can even include your business contact number again in your call to action.
4. Give Cards Away Appropriately
Be selective and creative about where you distribute your business cards. The best way to promote your business is to personally hand out your business card to people. This allows the recipient to put a face with the card and creates a feeling of realness attached to the business card. Avoid leaving piles of business cards on the counters in bars and restaurants. They often won’t get used properly and in some cases, might give those who see it a negative image of your business practices.
In short …
1. Include your complete contact information.
2. Be creative in your card design, grab your client’s attention and include a call to action.
3. Distribute your business cards personally.
