The simple answer is it is more efficient, more refined operation in generating prints. It is also the most common and practical printing process used by commercial printers all over the world. Offset printing is widely used for business cards, brochures, catalogs, calendars, flyers, postcards and posters you required for your maketing and advertising purpose.
The strength of offset printing:
High Resolution
Offset printing produce prints that are of high clarity and great detail. The process of offset printing involve the use of multiple rollers and cylinders, printing plates and ink. The printing plate will not come in direct contact with the paper. The inks are “offset” unto a rubber blanket that prints the image unto the paper. This makes the paper more absorbent to the ink, which contributed to defined and intense text and images.
Chromaticity
Offset printing obtains chromaticity for your prints. An integration of four color process printing (also known as CMYK to the trade people) allows you to create a kaleidoscopic array of colours on your printed material. Whether rich or mild, bright or dull, you want it, you can get have it, mostly. Some printers who don’t have computer-to-press (CTP) printing machines will still need colour separation films. And colour separation films will provide these 4-colour printing films.
Accuracy
We know oil and water cannot mix. This is the science behind offset printing. The inks in offset printing comes into contact with image printing areas. Non-printing areas are covered with a thin film of water, repelling any ink that got on to them.
Quantity and Quality
The beauty of offset printing lies in consistency. Each print is the same as the other, even with a several thousant print run at a go. Computerization and the expertise of a skilled technician ensured such consistency and accuracy.
