Sizzle a Promotion Event with Live Music
Nov 8th, 2007 by MAT.
An important component of a successful promotion or launch event is entertainment. Big brands can afford to hire celebrities to wow their supporters. Smaller organizations with tinier war chests will just have to think out of the box to offer something interesting to keep the customers and media happy. The usual gigs are songs, dances, catwalks, magic shows and stunts performance with the client’s products as props.
You can go to an event company and have them plan and organize the entire show. In other words, you leave the programs and the hiring and managing of artistes to them. However, there are times you’ll find the usual formula dished out by the event organizer uninspiring. You have seen such shows over and over again in other events and you don’t want them in your own show. What can you do? Find your own artistes!
Mostly, you will want a band or an artiste who can definitely sing and perform and preferably have his own fan base, and at the same time, charge a reasonable fees. This way, you won’t have to worry about quality of performance, you are assured of crowds on the big day and you don’t burn a hole in your pocket. You can go to websites like unsigned.com to check out
independent bands and artistes available for your shows. Unsigned.com provides a platform to independent artists from solo, trio to bands to be heard globally on the Internet. In other words, budding bands and artistes that did not signed up with a label join unsigned.com to gain exposure and publicity. The better ones even got their fans this way. There are 50 music genres listed from rock, pop, world, alternative, hip-hop etc. Click on the genre you deemed relevant to your event and browse the artistes available. Click on the photo or artiste’s name that caught your eyes to read their bios and listen to their songs and musics.
Sure they might not be big names but who knows, they could be American idols in the making. They are just waiting to be heard. I like pop and rock and I have heard several of the unsigned bands singing online. They sounded cool. Listen to them for leisure now but do remember to mark the promising ones as potential performers for your future events. You can even contact them via email now just to check out their interest to perform in public or private events. This way, you got a nice list when your marketing head get you to organise the next promotion or launch.
A ‘”live” band on promotion site always generate traffic and hype. You just need to pick the right ones! And mind you, picking the right one takes time.
